Door to Life

A "Door to Life" is a project to support 1000 families to get out from the circle of poverty. This projects is a partnership between Alashanek ya Balady Association for Sustainable Development (AYB-SD) and Global Biking Initiative-Egypt Team to give small loans to poor families to have their own projects and increase their income. By this, we will help minimizing unemployment rate, support families with income to have better education, medical services and life.

Because 90% of the unemployed in Egypt are youth; most of which are poor (Egypt Human Development Report, 2010), and because 44% of the Egyptian population are living under $2 per day (World Bank Indicators, 2010), "Door to Life" project is essential to solve the roots of the economic problem in Egypt. In addition, the recent economic crisis resulted in an increase in unemployment and poverty as many poor people lost their jobs or projects. To know more about the project, watch our video:
