Protection is Their Right

“Protection is Their Right” is an initiative launched by “Alashanek Ya Balady” Association for Sustainable Development (AYB), in cooperation with the Egyptian Pharmaceutical Students' Federation (EPSF) and under the auspices of the Egyptian Pediatrics Association (EPA).

Together we can stop the clock on pneumonia and save thousands of children’s lives in the coming years!

overview on employment program

The program is one of a kind in Egypt, as it is the first Employment program to focus on the employment of marginalized youth and women and advocate for their rights in fair wages and treatment. The Employment Program researches the market to survey employers’ needs to channel them to AYB-SD training programs, and thus train beneficiaries on skills needed by the market.

Investment in Small and Micro-Projects

This program offers the graduates of training programs micro-credit (350 – 2,000 EGP) or small loans (2,500 – 10,000 EGP) to start their own business. The beneficiaries pay minimal service fees to receive guidance throughout their start-up and growth phases, which involves:

There are two types of training that we offer:

1 - Training and Career Guidance:

This program aims at the training of marginalized and unprivileged communities on soft and specialized skills to be qualified candidates for various job opportunities. The program tailors its trainings curricula based onemployers’ needs.

An integral part of the training and career guidance is to provide coaching for youth and women beforereceiving the training and the employment opportunity, and on the job (after receiving the employment opportunity).

Personal coaching is necessary to orient unprivileged communities about the job market, the labor law, and how to deal with stress and other team members in the workplace. Coaching also provides the neededexpectations for unprivileged communities about various job responsibilities, how to deal with the companies/factories’ management, and ethical work standards.

Door to Life

A "Door to Life" is a project to support 1000 families to get out from the circle of poverty. This projects is a partnership between Alashanek ya Balady Association for Sustainable Development (AYB-SD) and Global Biking Initiative-Egypt Team to give small loans to poor families to have their own projects and increase their income. By this, we will help minimizing unemployment rate, support families with income to have better education, medical services and life.

100 youth employed through employment program

Gourmet-picture100 poor youth in Cairo, Beny Suif, and El Menya were employed through AYB-SD’s Employment Program in a Vodafone special project, Aramex, Maytex, Jet Garments, Spinneys, and Gourmet.


overview on education and awareness program

This program works on the skills development and education enhancement of marginalized teens through various life skills training, health awareness sessions, and tutoring.

This program equips marginalized teens with the skills necessary for them to access the labor market on the long run through the life skills training giving. Health awareness is necessary for teens to prevent severe health problems from an early age.

In addition, tutoring not only supports teens’ education and learning, but it also decreases the expenses paid by the parents on private tutoring and thus more income is available for the family to spend on other necessities.
