علشـــــانك يــــا بلدي هافضــــــــل       دايماً معاكي مش هاتغرب بعيد

هافضـــل عـــايش في حضنــــــــك      اتنفس هواكي في فجر يوم جديد

علشانك يا بلدي هاتحدى الصعاب        يــا أغلـــى ما عندي وغلاوتك أكبر

علشانك هاكــــون أفضل مما أكون       هـــاعاهدك يا بلدي أبدأ من جديد

 

علشـــــانك يــــا بلدي هافضــــــــل       دايماً معاكي مش هاتغرب بعيـــد

علشـــانك هـــاصمم أخطط واغيـــر      وحلمـي الصغير مش هيكون بعيد

علشــــانك يـا بلدي قبلت التحـــدي        هاحلق بحلمي وهاوصــــــــل أكيد

علشانك يا بلدي هاخطي الصعاب         هاطرق كل باب وهانجح أكيــــــــد

يوم ما تحسي انك فخورة بوجودي       يومها هاحس إني مولود من جديد

Has 4 siblings; graduated with diploma and they don’t work.

Lives in Waly Nezar Vilage in Fayoum.

Nadia Fouad: A whole family rising above poverty

Married.

Has got 4 children: 2 in primary school, 1 in KG, and a baby. All the family used to live in 3*4 meter room in Ewa’at el Ghaba (slum area).

Hoda Youssef: Her siblings were able to continue their education thanks to her project

 

hoda_youssefHoda is a 23-year-old. She has a License in Arts, and lives in Markaz Makada – one of the poor villages in Qena. Her father works in one of the public institutions and earns 500 EGP per month, while her four younger siblings are still in university or in primary school. Hoda felt responsibility toward her family, as her father’s salary was not enough to cover the basic consumption and education costs of her siblings. She tried to search for employment opportunity in Qena, but she failed.

Samah Said: Story of rebelliousness against begging in streets

 

Samah_SaidA highly entrepreneurial 26-year-old lady living in Ain El Sira with two children and a husband who doesn’t have a stable income, Samah hoped to lead a sustainable life and not to depend on charities form NGOs or mosques. “I have seven year-old girl and a four year-old boy, and I really don’t want them to grow up seeing their father and mother begging from others.”

Ahmed Hussein: A father living the dream of making a better future for his children

 

Ahmed_HusseinAhmed Hussein is a 50-year-old man, who aspires for a better future to his family. He lives in Ewa’at El Ghaba; one of the slum areas in Old Cairo. He is married, and has got two children: Maryam and Abdullah in preparatory school. Being poor and impoverished doesn’t mean he is not educated. Ahmed is a graduate of the Faculty of Commerce, Cairo University.
