AYB-SD consolidates and expands its development efforts to reach 1,500 youth, women and children in 2008 through its various programs in Ain El Sira and Abol Soud Youth Centers in Old Cairo. In collaboration with the International Youth Foundation, Nahdet El Mahrosa NGO, Shell, Injaz, and the Near East Foundation, along with the help of AYB-SD university branches in AUC, Cairo University, and Ainshams University, AYB-SD is able to extend its micro-credit program to reach more poor women, organize various soft and technical skills trainings for youth, as well as involve children in different art and human development classes. This is in addition to successfully organizing health campaigns and awareness sessions for women, children, and youth as well as illiteracy eradication classes for women. AYB-SD is also able to create a successful model for the vocational training for women, where they are trained on producing high quality hand made products to be sold in fairs and shops. It is worth saying that AYB-SD is launching the first employment office for the poor in Egypt soon. The employment office will work on finding employment opportunities for marginalized youth in Old Cairo after being trained on various soft and technical skills through the Capacity Building Program of AYB-SD.
