Alashanek ya Balady Association for Sustainable Development (AYB-SD) is an Egyptian non-governmental organization with registration number 6135/05. AYB-SD is inspired by Egyptian youth seeking the comprehensive development of poor communities in Egypt through various social, cultural, and economic projects. AYB-SD believes that poor communities are productive and are able to contribute to the development of Egypt if they are given the right chance and direction. Know more about us from here.

AYB-SD Wins the 2009 King Abdullah II Award for Youth Innovation and Achievement 

Raghda El Ebrashi, AYB-SD Founder and Chairperson, is among four Arab Youth recently announced as winners of the King Abdullah II Award for Youth Innovation and Achievement selected from over 500 applicants. His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein of Jordan presented the four winners with awards in recognition of the innovative projects they have implemented to benefit their communities. The recognition took place during the closing ceremony of the World Economic Forum on the Middle East at the Dead Sea – Jordan on May 17, 2009.  

By recognizing conscious youth citizens across the Arab World that are engaged in exemplary activities related to Active Citizenship; the award strives to enhance the culture of research and development to increase the impact of change in community led development, generate best practices and encourage cross-border cooperation and dialogue.
